Johanna Garrison and her husband, Alton, assistant general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, have been married for 32 years.  She started in ministry with her husband who was then an evangelist.  For 15 years, Johanna and her husband team-pastored First Assembly of God in North Little Rock, Arkansas. They spearheaded extensive lay ministry involvement that led the church to give $1.4 million to missions in 1996.

During her husband's tenure as superintendent of the Arkansas District, Johanna assisted him in creating and launching the District Superintendent's Wives Mentoring Group.  Johanna also assisted her husband in establishing the ReachAmerica Coalition, a grassroots effort to impact America, during his tenure as executive director of Assemblies of God U.S. Missions.

Johanna holds a BME from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, and has taught in the Kansas public school system.  She also serves on multiple boards of directors.

Johanna's book, Tangled Destinies, is an account of her family's hardships through the Nazi holocaust, an Indonesian revolution, and subsequent immigration to the United States.
